Default Auto Top off question...

I've been doing a search on this site for a simple, (cheap!), autotop system. I currently just use a gallon container dripping kalk.

I need something a little more automated for when I leave the tank for multiple days.

Should I be looking at "autotopoff.com", or is there a better way to go? My tank is sumpless.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Either autotopoff.com or try to find a used one here. I have two from autotopoff.com and they are both great. You might save a little going DIY but these are ready to go so there is the convenience factor. Or look for deals on a used one. I picked up a used JBJ with aqualifter pump for a great price from another member.

If you can do a group buy from autotopoff you'll save on the shipping.

If you go sumpless, you could do something like this. I rigged it up so that when the float valve is closed, there is no visible water line in the tank. Just a couple of pieces of glass/silicone and a $7 humidifier float valve.
