Default sedra 5000 same as 7000?

hi anyone know if the sedra 5000 and sedra 7000 are identical externally?

reason i ask is because my sedra 5000 on my euro reef is dieing and needs to be replaced. so i just thought i might also do a small upgrade if i can reuse the externally modified parts by euroreef and swap them onto the 7000. if not then i will just buy another 5000. thanks for any replies

I believe it depends on the 5000 you have. I've seen Sedra 5000 in both a small body matching the 3500 and a large body matching the 7000. I believe the newer ones are smaller and are not the same as the 7000.

Ditto that, me too, seen both small and large 5000's. The ones that came with skimmers seem to be the larger version which I assume is the same as a 7000.

if you post a picture I could tell you if it's the smaller or larger version. Dimensions could work as well but someone else might be better at that since I don't have a reference to compare measurements.

im thinking that it is the larger and not the smaller sized ones. it has more of a rounder apperance and not of the squarer ones.

question: does the a or p at the end of the model number make any difference? or is the attachments that are included the only difference between them. for example sedra ksp-5000a and ksp-5000p? thanks

ok picked myself up a 7000, it is identical to the 5000 i have, even the impeller is the same size, just need to pick up a needle wheel modified one. from OA

only problem i have is the output union on my pump is glued on and cant be taken off. the intake has a volute that can be interchanged. anyone know where i might find this particular union that euro reef uses on their RC135 skimmers?

i have the old style union anyone know where i might find them locally? thanks

How do you get the impeller out... can't you switch the entire piece that you take off to remove the impeller?? I'm confused?? Where is it glued?
