Default Lawnmower blennie eggs

Now I,ve seen everything. My best guess is my blennie laid a huge batch of eggs, perhaps a 1000 +. I,ve seen her with a huge belly before but assumed it was from eating baby perc hatches. I also seen similar eggs on the back glass before, but chalked it up to Turbo snail eggs.

So today, I noticed how huge her belly was again, but as my percs have a new batch going, same conclusion. Tonight I see all these eggs on the rocks and her just fanning away. At first I thought she was eating snails eggs but no doubt in my mind, she is laying them and fanning them. Totally amazing to watch.

Please excuse my cheapie camera. Best I can take up close. Next is her taking a break and watching for my helping with the nursery Scopas tang.

Ok, back to work.

I guess a male is not needed to lay the eggs? Or do the male blennies lay eggs? Have to look that one up. Either way, nobody to fertilize, unless my male perc does double duty.

I have a decent video also, or at least for my camera. Shows an assist from Mr. Scopas also. However, as I cant store it here, how does one post it.

She looked pretty tired this morning. The scopas is still eating them when he can and I noticed the blennie is now eating her own eggs. Guess she gave up, perhaps from being harrassed by the other fish or no male to fertilize.

Still have the video of it but not the best.

You should post that on RC or RDO (or frank marini's forum somewhere, maybe marinedepotforums?) and see if its been documented or anyone has successfully raised eggs
