Conch, I think I found one!!!!

The morning after I moved my rock around there was an algae encrusted rock with a paly growing on it at the front of the tank. It didn't move for 5 days and I thought it was just a rock that a clumsly crab had knocked over. Well today it has moved up to the the top back of the tank. I thought well maybe it's just a ball of algae so I grabbed it. It was stuck to the glass and had a hard shell. It looks like a snail on the bottom. Pointy things come out from the shell, but I can't get a good look for the algae. Can I use a tooth brush to clean the agae off it so I can get a pic? I have it in a container floating in the tank.

One more question I think I found a mushroom too. It lives in a low light, fairly low flow area of the tank. Do they close up and virtually disappear sometimes? Whatever it is it a nice purple/blue color. Can't get a shot of it due to it's placement in the tank.
