![]() Last night my snails in my tank (not Mexican turbo's their shells are conicle and purple in color) were releasing white stuff. It almost looked like smoke coming from them but it wasn't. All of them were doing it at the same time. What was this and why do they do this??? Any ideas?

![]() as far as i know, raising marine snails is NOT easy. so in other words i doubt you're gonna have wee lil baby snails running around. but hey, they did spawn so who knows, maybe some will survive!

![]() some snails breed easily in capitivity.
others just go thru the process with no results. It will totally depend on the species of snails. Neal

![]() If they are anything like the conical shaped snails that I had, with an opening right in the top of the shell, they reproduced and grew quite easily. Eventually though, most of the population was wiped out by my peppermint shrimp once they ran out of aptasia. However, I now have some new snails growing in my tank which look to be turbos - not sure which variety they are - got them from Aquagiant. They are surviving due to growing up on the safe side of my wall to wall overflow.

![]() I've had snails do the same breading show in my tank. There is one thing that went on though that I should have checked further on. Instead of whispes of sperm and eggs I had smalll clouds of sperm and eggs get released from my sand bed about a month ago. I should have dug around to see what was doing it but didn't want to harm anything. Must have been 8 or 10 spots all on the same half of my tank. One started and then they all fired off. It lasted for about 30 secs. Just lucky to have seen it happen.
