![]() Hey Guys,
I decided to stir up the sand bed a bit and created a bit of a sand storm in my tank. After about a night, the water finally cleared up, but there is dust all over my live rock, glass, heater, etc.. What is the best way to remove this? My live rock is pretty much white from all of this dust/sand that settled on it. Thanks |

![]() Use a turkey baster (that has never been used to baste food) to blow off the dust.

![]() Thanks I'll try that. Is there a reason why my sand creates huge amounts of dust when I touch it even the slightest bit? I am using live sand that is fairly coarse.

![]() back to constructive comments, I use my turkey baster to baste the rocks about twice a week, and once a month I do a complete blowing of the tank with a maxijet 1200. I love MJ's, they're so handy

![]() Its just really light stuff. After awhile it will get coated with biofilm (bacteria) and be a bit more weighty. For the most part sugar sand is just like that though, its pretty fine grained and doesn't have a lot of weight to it.
