Default Mpt?

I picked up fittings for my new chiller and the threads seem to be the wrong pitch. I have some 1" threaded fittings and they don't match up. The instructions say to use 1" MPT threaded one end and barbed on the other. Does MPT mean metric pipe thread? If so does anybody know where can I buy some?

Thanks for the info. That is very helpful. I need to try and find the tapered fittings.
No wonder the fitting I got only went in a few threads worth. DUH!!

All the regular joe PVC fittings at Home Depot and Rona are NPT (tapered.) I'm not sure what you have if it doesn't fit.

What chiller do you have? Some have metric fittings.

I found what I needed, thanks.
The chiller is an aqua medic (made in USA)
