Default Colt Coral MIA

Would a turbo snail or a hermit crab eat a colt coral?

I received a frag from Andrew a few days ago. I put it in the tank and on the 1st night something knocked it off the rock, so I moved it to a new location. The frag was about 2 cm long and I put it in a hole in the rock so that 2/3rds was in the hole and only a little bit was out. The next day it’s gone. I searched everywhere for it with out moving the rocks. I even turned off all the lights, pumps, skimmer etc so the water was calm and used a flashlight. No luck.

So what would take the colt out of a hole and put it somewhere else or eat it??

This is a very confusing thing.

Patrick,

Chances are it's laying somewhere on the sand in your tank. One piece of mine kept getting knocked over by different critters until I really jammed the piece into a hole.

Once it finally attached itself to the rock, no problems since.

But I did find the small piece in different places in my tank for the first couple days. Keep looking it will surface I'm sure. And as long as it gets a bit of light, it will continue to grow wherever it's lying.

I don't know of anything that will chomp on Colt, except maybe a rogue shrimp or crab?
