Does halimedia have to be attached to rocks, or can it float?

Rory it can float or sink in your sump, if you get it on your rocks its hard as hell to get out it grows into the rocks PITA

Cool, thanks for the info. I had some in my 110 gallon tank a long time back, but my fish at it all.
It would be nice to grow in my fuge to feed my tangs, they love eating my chaeto and grape calurpa.
