So as some of you know,I bought a new 6 foot tank.Well, yesterday morning I decide Im going to start getting it ready.Take my 40lb bag of crushed coral, get 2/3 nice and rinsed...turn to put it down, and 'whoop!'-bucket slips, lands on my big toe, seemingly trying to kill it.You would be amazed at how large a big toe can get,and the pretty shades of purple your skin can turn.
So after a long string of obscenities,a rather long smoke break...decide to start putting some water in the tank to get it going.Coming out of laundry room with full 5 gall pail of water, and 'whoop!-mysterious piece of PVC from cichlid tank slips under my foot. Now,youd also be amazed at how wet a carpet can get from a 5 gall pail of water, but lemme tell you,it looks like alot.Laying on the floor, even worse string of obscenities, look down at my OTHER foot to see a golf ball sized swell. Can barely move it,and hurts like all hell.Curse at husband because of course this is somehow his fault.Wait a bit, crawl upstairs, hop into car,and 3 hours later come home from hospital with a pretty little cast, and 2 breaks later.
So,for your anyone looking at getting into reefs,be warned-its an 'expensive' hobby-the darn crutches cost me 32.00!
