Default LR and lighting

Hello I have some LR in my tank ,but not any lighting at present (I had a double strip florescent for a while ) ,should i have lighting on it or will it stunt it or not produce anymore coraline purple algea or what could i do to keep it in good shape right now. any reef type solution product, the rock does seem to have just a couple things growing out of it. the tank is really clear no crud on overflow etc. tank is about 4 mths old (72 gal with a sump)

Default light

Not only will the coralline stop growing without light but the existing stuff will start dying shortly. Depends on what your purpose is for the rock. If you are going to use if for a reef tank, you might want to put a light on it. A fish only with live rock tank, it won't make too big of a difference. JMO.
