![]() How long would it take to turn base rock into live rock. i redid all of my tank, new sand, pulled out the old live rock and pressure washed it….long story. but my sump has bio stars that have been in there since day one.

![]() To get it bacterially active, 2-6 weeks. To get it purple, depends on a few factors:
1. Ionic stability - high and stable is best 2. Flow - high but indirect 3. Lighting - I've had good results with higher kelvin 4. Types of algaes - seed from other sources and crush them into your tank over the rocks

![]() I'd recommend a seeding product like Zeobak or that Dr. Tim's stuff.
Ca, kH, Mg, etc. Keep them elevated and keep them stable.

![]() I get red slime whenever I use it, but others have done well with it.
Ca 375-425ppm kH 7.5-8.5 Mg 1350-1600ppm
