Got all the Red Sea colours hooked up to the new doser. 1.4 ml per day each.
Needed a small container to dose the Reef Energy AB+, and as they recommend using only one weeks worth out of the fridge, I had to come up with a solution. Got a syringe from Amazon and built a custom container to house it. Not my best plastic work, but we will give it a try. Tank pics to follow. |

Thanks!
Got the Red Sea Energy AB+ dosing container filled and tested. Currently dosing 20ml every morning while the lights are still off. Not entirely sure I'm going to continue with this schedule, as I think it may be too much. Picked up some inverts last weekend. The Peppermints didn't last 2 days... expensive fish food. 6 Trochus to replenish the herd. They bred like crazy in the last tank... but this time, nada. Went to see Wheelman76 and grabbed a couple cyphastrias. I highly recommend a visit if you've never been and are looking for coral. Pulled this guy out of the tank and put him in the sump... ...because I picked up some Berghias for the dreaded aiptasia. Nudis in the wild. And some of the most recent tank pics. Definitely need more fish. A trip to Shoreline is needed. Just going to spend some time dealing with the aiptasia for now, then I have a lighting upgrade planned next. Thanks for looking. So, a pretty major thing happened.
After hearing that Australian Stripey's can do wonders on Aiptasia I decided to give one a go. Now they are not completely reef safe, as they will eat some LPS (of which I have limited amounts) but I can report that within 5 weeks he has decimated the visible Aiptasia in the display. He has showed no interest towards the hammers, cyphastria, or favias. He was accepted immediately by the tangs, and is not agressive to any of the other fish. I have also since returned the Filefish to the display. Still planning a lighting upgrade and getting PO4 dialed in. Also dealing with cyano and some algae. Thanks for looking. |
