Has it always been the only maroon in the tank? If so, its probably a female. Id say by the pic that the anemone should be fine. Try feeding it to make it grow bigger.
When my clowns lay eggs, or are getting ready to lay, they tend to beat on the anemone. They even rip off tenticles and eat them
Anemone is just fine.
