I can tell the difference between the two fish in two ways: one the larger female is at least a year older than the smaller male, and second my female has a mark her dorsal fin which makes it even easier for me to tell. Also I saw the female giving birth to the clutch so that made my assumption 100% right.

If you have a pair, in most cases the female will become larger and dominate the tank more than the male.
