VorTechs are more controllable than Tunzes - you can turn them down a lot more. You could
almost use the MP40 in a BioCube if you really wanted to. I really like the VorTechs - they are leaps and bounds ahead of Tunze as far as controllability goes. The VorTech programming that's built in is way better with way more flow options. Tunze doesn't have any random-type flows, where VorTech does. For me, I make every effort to make my tank silent, and the sound of the VorTech ramping up and down just annoys me. In fact though, if you run an MP40 at about 60% or less it's similar to a Tunze 6105 ramping up and down to 100% (you can't hear either when the TV is on). I'm curious about the Silent Drives though, maybe they will put them in the Tunze category. My new tank (and current tank) use 6055s though, and I can't hear them ramping up and down to 100% no matter how quiet the livingroom is.
