Joe, I ran a couple of tests by turning off the return pump. The sump has abundant volume to hold excess back-siphon water, which is not a lot since the check valve stops much of it anyway. At the moment I'd venture to say there is about 1/3 of the sump being empty. Still figuring out where to draw the line as far as max/min water level is for my ATO.
