Seems pretty quiet to me. I don't notice it at all. My last skimmer with the eheim pump I think was noiser! Maybe the curve 9 needs to be broken in a bit more then the noise will kick in ?
My stand is skinned with some pretty thick Ikea cabinet doors though, so maybe that helps to muffle it? At any rate, compared the the last two skimmers that I had (Bubble Magus 220CS and Hydor), this one is a lot quieter. I have no other frame of reference to compare to.
