I am disagreeing with Brad a little bit. I use automatic feeders by NutriMatic, which I get at a LFS for around $24.95. They are battery operated, and if the battery fails they just won't operate, but that has never happened. The food is in a rotating drum, and even if it fails it will never dump all the food in at once.
