You do have the UV glass between the bulb and the lamp right? Also, what was the temperature of the water at 8:45? You might consider moving the lamp up. The optimal position to get good spread with a pendant would be between 6-12" above the water's surface. Not only does this give you a better spread of light throughout the tank, it will also decrease the chance of water spashing and shattering the protective glass on the pendant.
Another possibility is that the LPS are new to your system and may still be adapting. What type of LPS do you have? Also when you say they are doing badly, what do you mean? Tissue has retracted? Tissues has died off? If you could get some pics that would also help.
