Reworked a big ole reactor I had here in to a recirculating biopellet reactor. I have had it online (not recirculating) for close to a month already but not heavily loaded with pellets. I haven't seen too many changes in the tank other than an upset open brain coral but I have tested at lower than previous levels for nitrates and phosphates. I still run "Seachem SeaGel" in another reactor for a bit of extra phosphate control. SeaGel is a blend of MatrixCarbon and PhosGuard. MatrixCarbon is an ultracapacity carbon for the removal of organic and color impurities. PhosGuard is a powerful remover of phosphate, silicate, toxic metals, and acids.
I think I could put 10+ liters of pellets in this thing!
I also found a nice purple goniopora coral to add to the mix.
