Yes, possibly :-). The only other option would be to re drill/cut the slits themselves which might be difficult. That def would be the way to go though. I don't have such a tool so I would just cut the tabs (between two slits) and live with fishing my tailspot out if the sump :-/

Maybe another alternative is to cut out the entire weir section (all the teeth) and epoxy a whole new grate/weir grills over the weir area? Or use egg grate inside the weir.
