Not really. I used to run at 76 steady. Switched to 79 and see much more growth at this temp. The last thread on this linked a couple of articles on metabolism of corals as a function of temperature, prompting me to raise mine. It was a good move.
Although, once I hit a point where growth is getting excessive, I can drop it lower to retard growth rates.
