Been reading up on quarantine tanks but keep seeing that I need to run a cheap filter or filter sponge on my main tank for 2 weeks to build up the nitrifying bacteria, prior to getting the QT going.
Any recommendations for speeding up this process? I'd like to get the remaining fish out and QT'd and start some meds ASAP. |
Really sorry to hear about this. I'm far from an expert, but in a situation like this would it not work to do daily water changes in the QT? Running a filter sponge for several weeks is great, but . . . it does not seem like you have many options.
