Unless they can split themselves (they don't), they still need two to do it.

they are not like aiptasias and cannot split or regrow from a small fragment.

How exactly do they reproduce asexually? Stomatella snails spawn together in the aquarium releasing eggs and sperm. One cannot do it alone. Only one can still release eggs or sperm but that's not going to end up as larvaes.
