My tank does not have a sump, so I am not sure where I'll put them.  I think the flow in the display tank is too much for them.  I might do what you did and use a plastic container, drilling some holes for flow and hopefully that works.   
 
I bought the baby brine shrimp eggs but I am lazy and don';t want to set up a hatchery.  I would be open to give them away to somebody with more experienced and with the right set up and time to raise them.

 If you clip the cup into your display they will be fine for weeks..the issue at hand is they have to eat soon.. I found the hurky jerky motion of the baby brine triggered their feeding response.  Hopefully someone local and take them and get them eating.
