Pods eat algae and occasionally become food for LPS coral so thats a good question, why would he want a pod eater in there? I've got two tail spot blennys in my frag tank but they like to have some live rock holes to hide in so that might not work for you. At one time I also had a canary wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus) in a 50gal frag tank for flatworm control. Since the tank was bare bottom like yours I included a small container with sand for it to burry in at night. However it would jump out whenever I startled it so unless your tank will have a covered top I'd stay away from wrasses.
