My suggestion too, is to leave them be if there isn't visible signs of parasites. My guess is if you just went through a fairly thorough cleaning, things are probably "not quite the same" as they were before (rearranged rocks, etc.,) and they're probably just getting reaquainted with their surroundings, so a little on the shy side.
Algae/lawnmower blennies probably take a while (like .. months) to take to prepared foods. So him not coming out to eat doesn't surprise me. When they take to it though, boy do they take to it.
