Alpha region sucks for begining =( there are a heck of a lot of long time players on there and they have long standing alliences. Now that I am in the middle of nowhere, well, I am in the middle of nowhere :P
Have you msg'd people in near by plannets to see if they can help you out? Always worth that last ditch effort.
I think an informal allience is an awesome idea until we get big and bad enough to start a formal one =)
