Scarlets never seem nearly as active or competitive. (to me)
Although realistically, any hermits roaring around during the day-time means hungry hermit; the biggest killer in captivity is starvation (leading to more intense competition between crabs in general, including but not limited to: general battles for space, fighting over food, trying to eat one another, and for shell space).
