prob because retailers push them on these forums and others....im not impressed with them either...nothing to special to me.... and maybe if i had billions of dollars extra to throw around but im sure my dog,house and carrer could use the money better than my tank....my tank does fine with halides/t5's and moons.......not enough of a bonus to spend thousands on a light fixture for me.
for the price of one of these i could buy a couple full set ups off of here and still have enough for a weekend out with the friends
