I bought an iphone 4 and a Galaxy S. I gave the iphone to my wife. It's simple, she likes it.
Android is way more customizable, as far as I can tell. Lots of custom ROMs available, took 15 minutes to load a new rooted and unlocked ROM on my new Galaxy S2, easy peasy. I'd never buy an iphone.
