basically, I understand a closed loop as this: water is pulled directly from the tank (thru a bulkhead or whatever) to a pump and pushed directly back into the tank (ie - the water doesnt go thru your sump and your skimmers, filters, etc)
But, it doesnt matter how you classify it...
the scwd merely needs to have water pumping thru it to work :P
