They are so tough! I once cut a frag in 2 and sort of sliced through a head. I scraped most of the remaining head because I was afraid it would rot. I only left a tiny piece that I could barely see but in no time not only did the head grew back, but it also made tons of babies. This is one tough coral!
So yes it will probably heal very fast. They grow new heads extremely fast but for them to develop each their own branch takes forever. They require good level of calcium.

The ball shape is just getting a little odd to place without smothering some of the polyps.
