Most actually stated that moderate salt levels in the septic will actually increase the biological activity in the tank.
I just had my septic tank pumped out this morning after 6 years of use and it was quite clean. It could of easily gone another 6 years.

What type of septic do you have? Gravity gravel bed or in sump pump? My is a gravity gravel bed, the house septic is feed out to the shop septic and then gravity feed out the gravel bed. Major pain in the a$$, has to be pumped out yearly in the summer.
