Really interesting thingys... You might try to ask a question on WetWebMedia.com. Some of their staff are Marine Biologists... and then there're these wild men like Bob Fenner and Anthony Calfo... It's a good research place unlike so many others.
I'm rooting for "misplaced" eggs, but; it is truly surprising for me too >:-)
