Well as an Electrician, I know that a loose connection will cause greast problems at the connection point. Mainly it will cause great overheating, and most likely a fire, but it will not cause a problem at the load end except less current and voltage, and I don't think that would cause bulb failure. And yes, hopefully the breaker will trip before the fire happens.
