But as for surface area, Ian can you tell if its been dipped in some sort of sealing agent? I like my regular plugs because during the forming process they sprinkle sand onto the wet plugs adhering it and letting the coral grow right onto that. Do the new plugs have a layer of something between the aragonite and what the coral is suppose to grow on?
Then again I don't think much testing has been done on growth rates of encrusting corals on different substrates so I probably shouldn't talk
. Sounds like it's time for a
SCIENCE EXPERIMENT , 3 different species of zoas each one with 3 different frag plugs (Plastic, Boston and one of these.)
So yes I'm very interested in some of them, are they much more expensive than regular plugs?
