Since the tank is already filled, I would just skip the sump. Buy a Deltec skimmer (the only HOB skimmer that's decent IMO) if you want a good skimmer. I know a couple people who have drained their tanks halfway and drilled the back panes. I wouldn't do it, but they didn't have any troubles. That's a thought if you're brave (or crazy).
