new vortec mp40
Just picked up my new vortech mp40w gen 2 at J&L's today. It was so simple to hook up. Everything so far has worked . Just plug and play. Still debating whether to keep my 2 Koralia 4's in the tank. How does the flow calculation work? Here's what I've got now in my 48x24x24 120 display.
1. Quiet One 4000 hh return rated about 980 gph
2. 2 Koralia 4's rated at 1200 gph each
3. Vortech mp40 rated at 3400 gph when at max speed.
There's about 140 lbs of live rock in the tank. Do you think I have too much flow now. Not sure how to calculate total turnover.
ps. also picked up really cool little white tail pygmy angel for my reef tank. He's only about an inch long and grows to max 1.5 inches.
