These units are more commonly know as desert coolers in teh mid east

As the name suggests they are more suited to low moisture enviornments

I cannot see these units being effective anywhere like Montreal or Toronto, As these units depend in water evaporation

I think your best bet is air conditioning, But do not go for those portable units. I tried to cool our server room last year with a 10,000 btu unit and was very disapointed. ( its a 10 by 12 room with 4 servers only )

IMHO you are better off with AC than these coolers unless you live in Arizona or Southern Cali
