I actually would advise against letting the clownfish 'host' in any mushrooms (especially larger ones like elephant ears or any that can enclose them). There are more than a dozen incidents that clownfish got eaten by their host at night, elephant ear mushrooms are most famous for that.
As for the 'breeding' part, it does not really matter they have a host or not.
