It a known problem with the Vertex, there was a bad batch of impellers. If you pull off the shaft from the impeller you will see wear marks on the shaft and the bore of the impeller will be ovaled out, this causes the impeller to vibrate. Replacing the shaft with a worn impeller does not help as it wills still vibrate. Contact the mfg, they will give you a new impeller.
