I know with my old tank there was no way to get sump into there and because I had just started reefing I didn't really understand all the fine points of plumbing/ drilling. For sure, but it overcomplicates setups in the 5-20 gallon range imo......When I do set up a larger cube, than absolutely, I think a sump tank is the "proper" way to do it, but for the nano's a HOB skimmer and fuge are handy!
