I don't know if I'm doing this right, but here's what I do: I leave the bypass valve open until the TDS reads <10, it takes quite a few minutes to get down to that level. It might come down to anywhere from 0 to 2, if I wait as long as 10 minutes on the flush, but even then sometimes a couple hours later I'll come check it again and it's bounced back up to 5 or so.

Hmm... I have always given mine about a 20 minute flush every month or so based on instructions from Aquasafe Canada way back...
I would try removing the DI altogether just to see...
