I recommend the hight of your stand allow you to scrape the bottom of your tank while standing on your tip toes.

So, this really means you need to take your height (and arm length) and height of the tank into consideration (assuming you are building your own stand).

Nobody enjoys looking at a tank where the bottom 3"s is always dirty, and if if is not easy to clean, well you will likely avoid cleaning it.
