Actually except for maybe RDO, most other boards are the same. Political & religious discussion always ends in a heated argument, which really has no place on an aquarium board.
For anyone wishing to argue those topics, for whatever reason, on a reefing board, {I know thats not this thread}, give the sump on RDO a go.  Actually RC even created its own board for that purpose, but it got so bad I think they closed it.
And I would guess there are boards out there, for discussing those topics, { discussing, , now thats a laugh}.
Anywho, like most of the other reefing boards, we just dont wish to moderate those types of threads or have to make decisions on our members after they get into a heated argument and name calling session. |
Yup totally makes sense! I forget how these threads WILL turn out if there was not that rule. I feel like we should be able to discuss these topics and not get out of hand. I have very strong beliefs myself but always make sure I try to understand where people with opposing views are coming from and although I usually still will not agree with their views in the end, I really believe its important to respect them...
Sorry, hope this is not also political somehow!
Oh and BTW, I have no interest in finding a forum to "argue" in
I just happened to have a view on this subject and chimed in since it was already here.
