i beg to differ. due to training you may be correct, as it takes time to achieve the results athletes desire. however from a strictly scientific standpoint, a 20 year old will be in better shape than a 32 year old. of course this doesn't mean it's downhill from there, the body stays in peak condition for a few years after that point.
of course i may be mistaken, this is stuff from my developmental psych class and research can be wrong.
