H. diphreutes is more desirable than H.acuminatus as it is reef safe and will mostly like not eat corals. However trying to distinguish the differences between them is almost impossible. In larger specimens you may have better luck but anything under 4" is a guessing game. You can try asking the LFS if they know but again, most won't and will guess. Your best chance is to have two species side by side and compare and the chances of that happening is never. Sorry I am not much help, just pointing out somethings about this fish while hunting for the same fish. I don't believe people would even be aware if they had one in the tank. Good luck.
