So I emailed Bulk Reef Supply and asked them about the GFO, this is what I said:

So from that, it would take 16lbs of the GFO to equal the absorbing capacity of 8lbs of the HC GFO. In that case, it costs less shipping to buy the HC GFO, and makes the HC GFO a much better buy from all perspectives.
So what do you guys say? Go for the HC?
